The site has a wide variety of plants that are only here, and unique , and that is the attraction of this town.
The town where many elderly people and young people increase in recent years, I would like to propose an architecture in which both meet by nature.
We made a unique playground on the roof by planning as low as possible according to the surrounding mountain range and creating undulations.
We will convey the attraction of the town to the people by transplanting plants that bloom in the nearby mountains to the playground.
The structure type was timber structure, which is attached to Japanese culture, and it was possible to reduce costs by local wood. and the structure members as small as possible, it was planned that transportation would not be unreasonable.
We made roof(playground) which waved gently by changing angle of beam finely.
The playground, restaurant and community hall can be accessed directly separately from the facilities so that local people can utilize it.
By providing a top light on the roof, the sunlight is diffused softly into the arena through the wooden grid.
The roof plants have the function of blocking summer sunlight and maintain a comfortable temperature in the room.
There is a famous hot spring(onsen) on the site next to this facility, and we plan to develop mutually in cooperation with each other to make it attractive as atourist destination.
The playground is open to everyone, and it creates a children’s and adult’s community such as baby movements, art exhibits, and naps. and all facilities are visible from the ground level.
We hope that this facility takes root as part of people’s life.
